My top 10 underrated female singers

The music industry is definitely not the easiest path to choose, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying at all. I could be here all day and take all the space to write about all the amazing artists out there that deserve so much more recognition than they have, so to sum all this up, I will talk about the, in my opinion, best female artists.

1)Hayley Kiyoko
Though she might be one of the most populars one of this list and is starting to get her name out there, Hayley Kiyoko is still underrated, if taking in consideration her talent and passion. Through her music, Hayley assures her fans that is okay and normal to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and how important self love is. She started her career in 2007 and starred on her first big movie in 2009. Now dedicates mostly to music, with the very recent release of her EP Citrine, which focus mostly on sapphic love.

2) Juliet Simms
Before known as the Automatic Loveletter vocalist, Juliet now dedicates her life to her solo career. In 2012, Simms was a contestant on the 2012 season of The Voice, and went as far as getting second place. After getting signed to Cee Lo’s record label, she released her first solo single, called Wild Child. In 2015, after leaving the company, Simms dropped her EP All or Nothing, promoting it on the Vans Warped Tour from that year. Her last EP, From The Grave, was released earlier this year, through her own label, and contains eight songs.

 3) Allie X
Born Alexandra Ashley Hughes, she started her career as Allie X in 2014, with the release of Catch, which was later added to her EPs CollXtion I and Catch. Hughes also is a great song writer, hence co-wrote most songs from Australian singer Troye Sivan first full album, Blue Neighbourhood in 2015. She’s also known between her fandom for taking interest on reading and taking a listen on her fans’ songs also through her blog.

4) Sophie Beem
Though she only has one released EP so far, Sophie Beem is getting her name out there for her incredible voice. She auditioned for The X Factor in 2012, when she was thirteen, but was rejected, now, at age seventeen, she signed with Beyoncé’s label and toured with Charlie Puth. Her EP, Sophie Beem, was released on March 2016.

5)Phoebe Ryan
She recently released All We Know with The Chainsmokers, who gained a lot of attention this last few months for their song Closer featuring Halsey. Before that, Phoebe has written with a lot of big artists, such as Britney Spears and Melanie Martinez. Besides them, she also wrote with Bea Miller, who is also on this list.

6)NS Yoon-G
Kim Yoon Ji is a korean-american singer. Since it is hard to make a name for yourself in America, Yoonji moved to South Korea after she finished High School to pursue her singing career. Although her career in K-Pop is considered a “flop”, she never gave up, and keeps on releasing more music for her fans.

7)Bea Miller
Yet another contestant from a reality TV show, Bea Miller participated on The X Factor alongside with Fifth Harmony.
Recommended songs: Fire and Gold, Force of Nature and Young Blood.

8)Hailee Steinfeld
Steinfeld has also only released one EP so far, in November 2015, but she already had a career in the industry before that. She started of as an actress when she was eight years old, and to this day still focus mostly in acting. Hailee’s first release as a singer was for a movie, Pitch Perfect 2, where she sang a cover of Flashlight.

9)Lights
Lights was born Valerie Anne Poxleitner, but legally changed her name to Lights when she turned eighteen. Her music style is synthpop, and gets compared a lot to Owl City.

10)Nina Nesbitt
Nina Nesbitt’s first single to get known by the public was Stay Out in 2013, though her second EP, The Apple Tree, was already popular on the internet. She only has one full album so far, but has a lot of EPs, which one better than the other.
