When we talk about Buenos Aires, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Dulce de leche? Medialunas? Parrilla? Tango?
I’m going to tell you the right places to find what you want. And if it's the first time you're visiting the city, here are the places you should not leave without visiting.
Tango: if you want to see Argentinian tango at its best, visit Señor Tango in Barracas! A visit there includes delicious food and an amazing professional tango show. They perform every night and really seems to love what they do. Highly recommended!
Coffee Shop: Travelers who collect dining experiences may want to visit Café Tortoni, Argentina’s oldest and most famous coffee shop. Started by a Frenchman in 1858 who modeled it after a Parisian café, the Tortoni remains a popular place to enjoy coffee or snacks with friends as well as hobnob with writers, painters and other artists. It’s also a good place to see the tango performed on stage by professional dancers. Located on Avenida de Mayo, the Cafe Tortoni ends the hungry with sandwiches, steaks and desserts that look too good to eat.
Casa Rosada: La Casa Rosada (The Pink House), also known as Casa de Gobierno (House of Government), is a must-visit tourist spot in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the executive house and also the office of the Argentinian president. It is not the home of the President: the President’s official residence is at the Quinta de Olivos. The name Casa Rosada derives from the color of the building, which is pink. The building is now a historical monument and has in it a museum with artifacts and objects related to former presidents of Argentina.
Puerto Madero: Puerto Madero is one of the most expensive, beautiful and romantic neighbors in Buenos Aires. Just like the London docklands, the antique port of Buenos Aires has been renewed and now represents the latest architectural trends of the city. It has a mixture of restaurants, ranging from high end to USA chains such as Hooters and TGIF. It also has apartment buildings and a few expensive hotels. The Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur - an excellent place for nature lovers - lies nearby. It has an amazing view at night, where you can relax and have a dinner or a drink. You can cross the Woman's Bridge, and enjoy seeing the boats moored on the canal. The statues and art works on one side of the bridge are definitely a picture worth taking.
